PHOTOVILLE TALKS Produced by United Photo Industries at Photoville 2017 Presented in partnership with PhotoWings Hosted by St. Ann’s Warehouse with additional support by Two Trees Management (Photoville Talks Producer - Amy Wolff) PANELIST BIO Documentary photographer Doug Menuez once stood at the North Pole, crossed the Sahara, had tea with Svetlana Stalin and held a chunk of Einstein’s brain. Quitting his blues band in 1981, he began his career freelancing for Time, LIFE, amongst other publications. He’s published four books, and has won numerous awards. He has done a range of advertising campaigns including Nikon and Microsoft, and his archives were recently acquired by Stanford University. His project, Fearless Genius: The Digital Revolution in Silicon Valley 1985-2000 was published in May 2014 by Simon & Schuster/Atria Books and is currently a touring exhibition. Mark Mann is a celebrity and sports photographer. He was born in Glasgow, where he lived until he went to study at the prestigious photographic program of Manchester Polytechnic. Before long, the recent graduate was assisting innovative fashion photographers Nick Knight and Miles Aldridge, learning the ropes and building his own body of work. Three years later, Mann started shooting on his own, relocating to New York City.
