Is Two Stacks Double Barrel a good whiskey? Let's find out! Two Stacks are one of the new breed of whiskey bonders in Ireland, taking some great whiskeys and either finishing them in interesting barrels or blending them in unique ways. For this whiskey, their new core single malt whiskey, they've made a unique blend. Being made up of 10% peated malt and 40% double distilled malt, aged in bourbon casks, and 50% Oloroso sherry aged triple distilled malt, this is a whiskey that's not lacking in flavour. Coming in at 43% also helps it deliver a nice experience into the glass. Two Stacks Double Barrel Tasting Notes Nose: The peated malt has a very immediate presence, showing through in a warming, campfire style smoke, all wrapped around a rich core of caramel, vanilla ,dried berries, maltiness and a hint of hazelnut the more I sit with it. Palate: Once it hits my tongue, I'm hit with lovely sweet biscuity notes, with more caramel and vanilla. This was supplemented with some rich red berries and a nice smoky hug from that peated malt. After I went back to it, I got some toasted oak barrel influence coming through almost like a roasted coffee, with more mild hazelnuts at the end of the palate. Finish: The fruit and sweet notes fade quite quickly, leaving the biscuity malt, smoke and barrel influence. ------------------------------------------------------- I'm a total whiskey nerd and this channel is all about Whiskey, Whisky, Bourbon, Rye, Pot Still Whiskey and Single Malt Whiskey. I'm always on the hunt for the best whiskey and love making whiskey review videos. My passion is for Irish whiskey, but I'm open to looking for the best Bourbon or the best scotch too! I'm an Irishman, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying whiskeys from all around the world, from Kentucky bourbon to Japanese single malts. I also love making cocktails, especially whiskey cocktails (or whisky cocktails) and really enjoy taking a classic recipe and adding my own twist to it, or making simple, 3 ingredient cocktails Make sure to subscribe for reviews every Wednesday and cocktail recipes every Friday! https://www.youtube.com/channel/TheWh...
