Amateur band from Szombathely, Hungary. (The communist police secretly observed them, the documents were made public in 2024.) Their songs were mainly written by themselves, which were about the problems of everyday life. Sometimes texts written by others were also set to music. From 1980 to 1987, the band operated under several names (Lex, Selejt, Félkilenc), the core members remained the same throughout. They played at many concerts, including in 1983 as the backing band for the famous Hungarian alternative band Europa Kiadó. Between 1980-82, the band produced rock and pop songs. At this time, Tibor Takács (1967-2004) played drums, László Vargyas sang, László Kovács played bass and Torjay Valter played guitar. During this time, Kovács wrote several lyrics for the band, most of the songs were always composed by Vargyas and Torjay. After Kovács left in 1982, Vargyas took over the bass guitar. At that time, the band moved mainly towards punk and new wave under the name Selejt. During this period, the band also had a female singer in the person of Anita Búzás. The band included József Nagy (1964-2004) as lyricist, Gábor Suta and Miklós Hunyadi as technicians. At that time, the orchestra also set to music several texts written by others (Zoltán Lőrincz, László Búzás) (Get up in the morning, Sacrilege). In the fall of 1983, several began military service. In 1984, the band continued to operate under the name Félkilenc. Keyboardist Zsolt Prucsi and clarinetist Gyula Szodfridt from the music department of Szombathely College joined the band, where Gábor Suta sang/spoke. In addition to the old songs, new ones were made. The ensemble broke up in 1987, as the leader of the college's Communist Youth Association (KISZ) made their work impossible. Later, László Vargyas took on a role in several more bands, and even today he actively sings and plays the bass guitar.
