At a seminar on Social Learning at Massive Scale, the keynote speaker, Professor Mike Sharples , Chair and Professor in Educational Technology, the Institute of Educational Technology at The Open University, UK. He spoke about FutureLearn and why it has been effective and more successful than have other MOOC platforms. He describes the social-learning pedagogy of the FutureLearn platform and shows how pedagogy-informed design can produce effective learning at massive scale.
