Winter Mt Charleston Summit Attempt!!

In this episode I bite off more than I can chew. I go for a solo Mount Charleston Winter Summit attempt. I was snowshoeing up the South Loop Trail in deep snow. I followed the most direct line up the mountain and turned around just shy of the South Loop Ridge near the Griffith Junction. Winter Mountaineering is not my strong suit, but I like to get out there and get in the elements to test my skills and endurance. This was slow going with deep snow and steep terrain, I ran out of gas. Beautiful day up there as you can see. A winter summit will have to wait.
