Schloss Charlottenburg (Charlottenburg Palace) is a Baroque palace in Berlin, located in the heart of Berlin in Charlottenburg, a district of the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf borough. It is today Berlin’s largest and most magnificent palace and one of the most visited places in Berlin. The palace was built at the end of the 17th century and was greatly expanded during the 18th century. It includes much lavish internal decoration in baroque and rococo styles. A large formal garden surrounded by woodland was added behind the palace, including a belvedere, a mausoleum, a theatre and a pavilion. The parkland surrounding the palace is a great area for picnics, strolling around by foot or bicycle. There’s even a children’s playground there.
