Hardwiring your radar detector: 1. Gather the necessary tools. You will need an Auto Trim Removal tool, wire cutters/strippers, and electrical tape. 2. Locate the humidity sensor’s 4PIN connector located on the panel under the steering wheel. 3. Route the power cord from the location where you will be mounting the radar detector to the 4PIN connector previously located under the steering wheel. 4. Hide the power cord. This will help to prevent the cord from being damaged. 5. Connect the power (signal) wires (YEL/ORG is +12V, BLK is Ground). DO NOT USE quick connect! For fire hazards of a bad connection or short, I strongly recommend soldering both YEL/ORG and BLK wires and using good insulation and automotive electrical tape. 6. Both soldering points should be at least 1” apart, individually insulated to prevent shortening, and then covered with automotive cloth electrical tape. The wire supplying power (+12V) to the detector must be connected to the YEL/ORG wire through an in-line 2A fuse!!! 7. The next step is to connect the power (signal) cord to the radar detector. 8. Test the detector. Once the detector is installed, turn it on and test it to make sure it is working properly
