In fact, if you prefer lightweight military boots in general, both of these are an excellent option, with Danner Tanicus being about 6 oz heavier than Danner Tachyon. But, depending on the load you are carrying, you might like one over the other. With a heavier load, some extra cushioning definitely helps. Danner Tanicus do provide that extra cushioning.
