Here is a video on the Different Ice Protection systems that are available on an aircraft. When an aircraft flies at high altitudes, the temperatures are very low; and if there is any moisture content in the air ice begins to form on the aircraft. Ice can form only on leading edges of some components of an aircraft such as the Wing, Engine Inlet, Pitot and Static Tubes and the Cockpit windows. It is essential that these components are free from ice because of degraded aircraft performance of the aircraft.
