Yes — Santa Claus is a real town in Indiana. And this year, it’s the backdrop for one of my favorite Christmas stories. In Santa Claus, Christmas lasts all year. Streets are lined with holiday-themed names, a post office overflows with letters to the North Pole, a theme park with a Christmas land, and in December, the whole town comes alive with lights, parades, and carols. Neighbors gather for breakfast with Santa, chestnuts roasting over the fire, and church services that proclaim the joy of Christ’s birth. For the people of Santa Claus, faith is woven into the celebrations — from scenes of Santa kneeling at the creche to candlelight services where the whole town seems to show up. It’s a reminder that even in the most festive places, the true gift of Christmas is Jesus Himself.
