Ozark National Scenic Riverways: https://www.nps.gov/ozar/index.htm We spent the last weekend of March running around the Mark Twain National Forest chasing springs, mills and backpacking a section of the Ozark Trail. We started off our first morning waking up at McCormack Lake and checking out the Falling Spring Mill. Arriving late the night before we noticed significant tree damage and realized that this area was not spared from recent tornados. We saw the destruction, all the way to the mill which thankfully was in good shape. Then we set out for Greer Mill and hiked to the second largest spring in Missouri, Greer Spring. After that we returned to McCormack Lake to start our out and back to Greer on the Ozark Trail. returning from our two day trek, we took it easy, driving to Turner Mill, Boze mill and ending the day back in Greer. For our last full day we decided to return to the Ozark National Scenic Riverways but stopped off first at the Peck Ranch to possibly catch some Elk. We returned to Round Spring first, the visited Pultite for our first time. After that it only made sense, we had to stop by Alley Mill. We finished our exploration back at Round Spring where we camped by the river before making our way back home the next day.
