Want to know the easiest and cheapest way to get lacing in a SheleeArt bloom swipe? Let me show you how to get spectacular results WITHOUT expensive Australian Floetrol! The bloom technique uses a very different recipe to typical acrylic pours to produce a stunning lace effect! There are three components to a bloom pour: the Pillow, the Colors, and the Cell Activator. -Pillow paint is just your base coat that the colors sit on top of. It provides enough paint mass to stretch out a small design over the whole canvas. It’s typically white house paint, and I am using semigloss black today. -Your colors are standard acrylic paints, mixed with a different pouring medium. My medium is 2:1 Untinted Semigloss House Paint (a neutral base, not a white base for light colors) and Minwax Polycrylic. I then mix it with my colors until they flow well but are still quite thick feeling. -Cell Activator is the magic ingredient that creates lacing when it is blown or swiped over the regular colors! Traditional cell activator is 1 part Amsterdam Titanium White to 3 parts Australian Floetrol, but Aussie floetrol is RIDICULOUSLY expensive if you don’t live there. So I use just the Amsterdam paint mixed with water until it flows off of a stick. The consistency is thinner than that of your other colors. It’s much less expensive and still makes great results! My colors are: Spring Green (Apple Barrel) Primary Yellow (Blickrylic) White (Sargent) Metallic Gold (Blickrylic) Cell Activators: Titanium White and Mars Black (Amsterdam) Pillow: Black semigloss house paint Subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss each new video!
