Celegorm was a Noldorin prince and one of the seven sons of Fëanor. Along with all the other sons of Fëanor, he swore the Oath of Fëanor, joined the exile of the Noldor, and settled in East Beleriand. Celegorm was a great huntsman, and was a friend of the Vala Oromë. From Oromë he learned great skill of birds and beasts, and could understand a number of their languages. He was further given by Oromë the great hound Huan. Celegorm was almost always in the company of his brother Curufin, and the pair are most notable for their role as antagonists in the story Of Beren and Lúthien where they attempted to usurp the kingdom of Nargothrond, and to force Lúthien into marriage to coerce a political alliance with the kingdom of Doriath. Their misdeeds resulted in weakening the Union of Maedhros, which contributed to the disastrous outcome of the Nirnaeth Arnoediad. They were eventually killed when the sons of Fëanor attacked Doriath in an effort to claim the Silmaril held there. With golden hair and hunter’s grace, He chased the wind through time and place. With whispered word, he tamed the wild, And rode as Orome's chosen child. But fire once sparked will not stay still— It burns through blood, it breaks the will. Chorus O sworn and bound by burning flame, The sons of pride, the cursed name! Through battle, blood, and bitter fate, They ride toward death—too proud, too late. Verse 2 When Morgoth stole the holy light, Their father swore eternal fight. Seven sons with blades held high Chose death to keep the Oath alive. To Nargothrond he came with lies, With Curufin at schemes disguised. They sought a crown, they sowed their fear— And drove the rightful king from here. They spoke of love with voices sweet, But shadows pooled beneath their feet. Chorus O sworn and bound by burning flame, The sons of pride, the cursed name! They touched the stars, but fell from grace— Oaths lead only to death’s embrace. Verse 3 He sought Lúthien, not for her heart— But to possess and play his part. Yet fate would twist the hunter’s path— For Beren rose with Huan’s wrath. The hound turned back, the bond was snapped, The crown fell cold in hands once clasped. Celegorm fled through forest dim— The world moved on, but not for him. The oath still burned, but none stood true— Just ash, regret, and morning dew. Chorus O sworn and bound by burning flame, The sons of pride, the cursed name! They speak of love with treacherous breath, And sow their oaths in gardens of death. The hunter called, but none would come— The flame had burned all bonds to numb. Breakdown They came like ghosts through Elven halls, And slew their kin within those walls. No crown, no glory, just the flame— That scorched their soul and stained their name. Final Chorus O hunter fair, O fire-born son, Your fate was sealed when Oath was done. You ran through stars, through shame, through lore, But found no peace—forevermore. O sworn and bound by burning flame, The sons of pride, the cursed name! Beware the Oath, beware the cost— For all that's sworn in fire... is lost.
