We get it, crochet ponchos are trendy again, but how do you make one? You need two measurements: your desired width of the poncho and your desired length. Info👇🏼 You crochet two panels that you increase on one side only. Always increase on the same side! starting chain: make a chain that matches your desired width R1: tc back into the chain, 1tc/ stitch until the last one, place 2tc into last stitch (=incr.), ch3 and turn work R2: 2tc into 1st stitch, 1tc/ stitch for rest of the row, ch3 and turn work R3: starts on non incr. side, so place 1tc/ stitch until you reach the last one, place 2tc into last stitch of the row. Ch3 and turn work. R4-6: incr. on one side only by placing 2tc into the last/ first stitch of the row (depending which side you start/ end). R7+8: non increase rows, place 1tc/ stitch R9: increase row R10+11: non incr. rows Alternate 2 non incr. rows and 1 incr. row until you have your desired length (I did 11rows). Fasten off yarn and repeat for other panel. Lay panels flat and sc together both increase sides starting at the top (= row 1). Leave 32-38cm for the neck, attach yarn and sc together the top side of the panels.
