In this MechWarrior Online gameplay episode, I pilot the Commando IIC on Luthien in Domination mode, showcasing how a fast Clan light mech can control engagements through smart poking, positioning, and brutal close-range finishers. This Commando IIC build focuses on flexibility. The 2× ER Medium Lasers provide consistent medium-to-long-range poke, allowing you to soften targets, strip armor, and apply pressure without committing too early. Once a target is opened up—or distracted—the mech transitions into its real strength: 3× SRM 4 and 1× SRM 6, delivering devastating close-range burst damage that can quickly cripple or outright delete exposed components. One of the biggest strengths of this setup is how well it supports the team. By stripping armor and legs from priority targets, it creates perfect openings for friendly heavies and assaults to swoop in and secure kills. Against other fast light mechs, the Commando IIC is especially dangerous—well-placed SRM volleys to the legs can end a fight almost instantly. As the match progresses, the role shifts from harassment to protection. When enemy scouts begin threatening our heavier mechs, I move in aggressively to intercept, including a close encounter with a Black Lanner. Shortly after, a Mad Cat attempts to push into our assault line, but a single, well-timed SRM volley removes its left torso and arm, stripping most of its firepower in seconds. With escape no longer an option and enemy LRMs raining in from a Longbow, I commit fully, finishing off the Mad Cat before going down. This match highlights exactly what the Commando IIC excels at: speed, pressure, and decisive strikes at critical moments.
