Presentation by Wayne Prentice to Rochester, NY chapter of IS&T (Society for imaging Science and Tech.) on 17 Jan. 2024. Understanding camera operation/design requires some knowledge of the parts, including, radiometry, optics, sensors, sensor design, image processing, color science, perception, and image/video encoding. This talk was inspired by interactions with co-workers and clients. I have observed that subtle, yet important, points when missed and can lead to suboptimal product and design decisions.
