Welcome to my first AltaBand workout video! My goal is to provide you with a fun workout routine that also trains you to have better posture. By using the AltaBand you will be challenged with light resistance at the shoulders to strengthen and improve endurance of the muscles we rely on for good posture. In this workout I will be using an additional resistance loop for several exercises - this is optional. If you do not have a resistance loop, just complete the exercises without it. Several tips to keep in mind the get the most out of this workout: 1. STAND TALL, DO NOT LEAN BACKWARDS FROM YOUR LOW BACK. If you find yourself pulling backwards or at the end of the workout feeling like you are falling backwards once the resistance is removed, you may be overworking your low back muscles. Instead, think about reaching the top of your head to the ceiling while gently pulling your shoulders back and drawing in your stomach to engage your core. 2. ALIGN EAR OVER SHOULDERS OVER HIPS. Return to this position between movements. Remember, the focus of this workout is posture and we are re-setting our body's perception of neutral posture. 3. ENGAGE YOUR CORE. Pull your belly button to your spine to engage the transverse abdominis, one of the most important core muscles to stabilize and support the spine. Remember your core is the foundation of good posture. I hope you enjoy this workout!
