I'll briefly touch on some of the DLC's that effect it such as: After Dark Airports Stadiums Concerts Parklife Hotels and Retreats Tourism can be broken down into a few simple steps: Something increases your cities attractiveness Tourists visit that destination and spend money Tourists Leave once they are broke Of course, there is a lot more to it than just that. You'll need to think of a few things when building things that increase tourism. Infrastructure: Do I have adequate methods to bring tourists into, and out of, the city other than the Highway? Public Transportation: Do I have adequate transportation to move tourists around my city to the destinations they desire? Commercial: Do I have the appropriate commercial zones for the tourist attraction? Offices: For Hotels & Retreats, do I have adequate business attraction for the hotel? Nature: For Hotels & Retreats, do I have adequate nature attraction for the hotel? One way you can help control the flow of tourism is with Hotels & Retreats. This DLC provides an additional method to help control and guide the flow of your tourists, spending their money quicker. Adequate public transportation to get from Intercity Transportation to the Attractive Destinations to Commercial and back is a must. Some have even recommended completely separate tourism lines.
