Volodymyr Zelensky described Europe as a “fragmented kaleidoscope of small and middle powers” with no clear plan to confront Russia or defend itself. The Ukrainian president accused European leaders of engaging in “endless internal arguments” rather than helping to end the war in Ukraine or protect Greenland. “Too often, European leaders turn against each other... instead of standing together to stop Russia,” Mr Zelensky told the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. “Instead of becoming a truly global power, Europe remains a beautiful but fragmented kaleidoscope of small and middle powers,” he said, adding: “Europe looks lost trying to convince the US president to change.” Mr Zelensky also said he had been advised by European leaders to avoid raising the issue of US-made, long-range Tomahawk missiles “to avoid spoiling the mood”.
