Shallow shore diving with a Rebreather and Bonex DPV in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, September 2018. Ellenabeich (nr Easedale) and Loch Sween. Deliberately got lost in the silt to try out the best and clearest compass to hand - the Shearwater Teric. My breathing hose is a bit off centre/skewed - this was because I'd decided to use the BOV on the Loch Sween day; and the hose to the sidemount was a bit short so it was tugging down on me. By the time I got in the water with all the kit and cameras, this wasn't something I was going to bother sorting out!! More of a drill/practice dive than a jaunt. The D7 suit leaked via the dump valve arm and the Teric told me I had no bailout 15 mins into the dive. The suit was fixed by tightening the dump valve to suit seal... but it could be that when scootering one needs to screw down a few notches. The lost BO gas was possibly down to me not closing the XTX200 down whilst being towed - can't see it in the vid though. Ever since watching 007 Thunderball and seeing a picture of a BioMarine MK15 RB in Popular Science mag - I've wanted to do this... a truly amazing feeling. PIty we can't take DPVs on aircraft due to the battery risk.
