A ghost who has saved before, a hero to protect Hiccup, resulting in Jack. Hiccup and Jack become close friends, discovering new things with dragons or Jack's powers. Only Hiccup can see Jack. Soon Jack gets tired of a certain boy's attitude toward Hiccup, lashing out. Others around are unsure what caused the spike of ice but Hiccup is well aware of not what but who. Jack's temper starts to rise when Hiccup tells him it wasn't right. Jack starts to mess with the season, harming more people, not understanding why Hiccup had summoned him to protect him, but won't let him. Hiccup finally tells him to leave to be safer, that he was freed from Hiccup's hold. Jack's anger and sadness manifest into something dark, no longer ice but shadows. Becoming Pitch Black. Soon Pitch returns for his revenge, and Hiccup shocked to see how his beloved friend had turned out. The two go back to back as Pitch explains all he wanted was a family, something he now believes Hiccup took from him when summoning him. Hiccup doesn't want to hurt his old friend, but he and too many are being injured by Pitch's rampage and it needs to end. But Pitch soon realises he was wrong. He had a family and saved his sister, the reason why Hiccup had summoned him, someone, to save him from his awful village. But Pitch thinks its best if Hiccup were to turn out like him, dark and evil. Hiccup refuses with the only way to escape being death. Sacrificing himself to rid Pitch and the horror he had caused. Years later the same book Hiccup had once used a young girl thought to as well. Wishing for someone to save her from her mother's control over her future, and behold Hiccup appears.
