Let's go gambling! They nerfed Radahn's cross-slash but Metyr's black hole laser remains unchanged. This one move is basically unavoidable without use of an ash or running away when you're already far away from the boss. Because of this one move, and the irritating phase 2 transition albeit less so, my enjoyment of this boss comes with a heavy caveat. I was told the boss cannot use the laser as long as you're behind her so that helped a lot. On average she uses the laser after like 4 to 5 moves but really that's entirely random so this one limitation of it helps. If I ever do this boss again with a no damage challenge I will use an ash so it can be actually fun. Also wanted to add that she does still follow the usual Souls rule of the enemy/boss not using an attack unless it thinks it can reach. Meaning Metyr won't use the laser unless she believes I am within its range. So running away like half the arena prevents her from using it.
