How do we finish well? What does it mean to run a good race? Why should we work hard? We expect everything to be quick. But nothing worthwhile is quick. Rich conversations, justice, reconciliation, meaningful friendships, a life-giving marriage — to name a few — all take time. The same is true when it comes to faith. If you look across the gospel account of Luke, which is where we’re going to be for this summer, Jesus says again and again, “I know the way to the fullest life.” But spoiler alert: it always takes time. So how, when everything within us wants to speed this along, how do we cultivate a faith that lasts? Jesus gives an extended metaphor — also called a parable — detailing out three ways to cut faith short and what makes those who last so unique. Thanks for joining us today.
