This Jain Masoor Dal khichdi is going to make the perfect filling lunch for you and your family. JAIN DAL KHICHDI Ingredients ¾ cup Tata Sampann Masoor Dal 2½ tbsps ghee + for drizzling 1½ tsps cumin seeds 2-3 green chillies, chopped 8-10 curry leaves 2 large tomatoes, chopped ½ tsp turmeric powder 2 tsps red chilli powder 1 tsp coriander-cumin (dhana-jeeru) powder Salt to taste 2½ cups cooked basmati rice 1 tsp pav bhaji masala ½ tsp garam masala powder ½ lemon 1 tbsp freshly chopped coriander leaves Coriander sprig for garnish Papad to serve Pickle to serve Method 1. In a large bowl, add Tata Sampann Masoor Dal and wash it with water 2-3 times. 2. Add the dal in a non-stick pressure cooker and pressure cook it till 2-3 whistles are released. Allow the pressure to be released completely. 3. Meanwhile, heat 1½ tbsps ghee in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and green chillies, curry laves, tomatoes and sauté well. 4. Add turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, and coriander-cumin powder, salt and mix well. Cover and cook till tomatoes are pulpy. 5. Add cooked dal and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Add cooked rice and mix well. 6. Add pav bhaji masala, remaining red chilli powder and garam masala powder and adjust salt. Mix well. 7. Squeeze lemon and chopped coriander. Mix well and drizzle remaining ghee. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes. 8. Transfer into a serving bowl, drizzle a little ghee and garnish with coriander sprig. Serve hot with papad and pickle.
