Footage of J-Pod September 19th, 2025 including J42's new baby! It's a mix of normal and slow-motion video, capturing their pass at Point Robinson and more. The J16 matriline has experienced both deep grief and new life, with a loss for J36 Alki and the arrival of a new calf from her sister, J42 Echo. While the survival rate for young orcas is tragically low, we're all rooting for this baby to defy the odds and thrive. Unfortunately, a huge challenge for these whales is vessel noise and disturbance. I witnessed multiple instances of boat harassment throughout the day. The situation worsened in the evening when a large portion of J Pod ventured into the Narrows and Carr Inlet - an area they haven't visited in decades. With L Pod's return to Penn Cove last year (the first time since the capture era) and J Pod's return to Carr Inlet on September 19th, what are your thoughts on these historic movements? All shots were taken respectfully from shore. **J-Pod vocalizations were added in post and were not from yesterday's encounter.
