California makes it a crime to bribe an executive officer under Penal Code 67, sometimes called 67 PC. An "executive officer" is a public official. Some examples are district attorneys, police officers, and building inspectors. Someone bribes an executive officer when they offer cash, or something else valuable, in order to influence their decision, and it's done with a corrupt intent.
