This is a fascinating videotaped adaptation of the 1934 Broadway play by Maxwell Anderson. Originally broadcast as part of the Hallmark Hall of Fame series of specials on December 3, 1975. The story concerns the American Revolutionary War encampment at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania and a planned escape by the men desperate to leave behind the terrible conditions of the winter - and George Washington's struggles to hold his army together at a critical point during the War. Featuring future well-known actors Christopher Walken, Edward Hermann, John Heard, Lane Smith, Simon Ward, Victor Garber and Richard Basehart. Gen.
