Deshmukh and written by Shabdh Kumar. The film was made in the style of formula-based potboilers and was a hit. It stars Rajesh Khanna in the lead role and the supporting cast includes Chunky Pandey, Amrita Singh, Sonu Walia, Avinash Wadhavan, Deepika Chikhalia, Kiran Kumar, Sadashiv Amrapurkar. It was the 11th highest-grossing film of the year 1991. Plot: One day, an honest common man, Kailash Nath, brings a newborn orphan baby into his home. Kailash and his wife Malti raise him with love and name him Ashok. Kailash has a confrontation with a feared bandit, Jabbar Singh. Jabbar threatens him, but Kailash's friend, Inspector Om, arrests Jabbar, and he is sentenced to death. Seeking revenge, Jabbar's son Sheru takes Kailash's life. On his deathbed, Kailash reveals to Malti that Ashok is actually his first wife’s son. Malti promises to care for Ashok as her own, but struggles to do so. She often holds Ashok responsible for the family's troubles, believing him to be an outsider. The only person who truly understands and supports Ashok is his friend Barkha. Meanwhile, one of Malti's other sons, Amar, goes missing, and another, Anand, falls into bad company and ends up in prison. The family faces one misfortune after another. With no other option left, Malti turns to Ashok for help. How Ashok reunites the family and they together face their enemy forms the rest of the story.
