This is a sad song about a woman who puts an end to her love, and goes back to hometown of the north(Hokkaido). In those days, the Ueno station was a entrance to the north Japan for people of Tokyo. This woman leaves the Ueno station on the night train, and she get down it at the Aomori station. After that, she across the Tsugaru strait on the ferry and goes back to Hakodate in Hokkaido.
