What does a garden look like before the season really begins? In this March garden walk, I’m sharing the starting point of the garden for the year and talking through what I hope each space will become as the season unfolds. Early spring is when I start walking through the garden, noticing what survived winter, and imagining what each area might look like by summer. In this video we’ll explore: • The Japanese maple area outside the back door • A shade garden under the dogwood with hellebores, hydrangeas, and azaleas • A cottage-style flower border along the driveway • A mysterious garden pathway I’m redesigning • Vegetable beds and cattle panel trellises • A bird feeder garden with peonies and bulbs • My cut flower beds and plans for the season Some areas of the garden are thriving, others are still a work in progress—but that’s part of the beauty of gardening. Think of this as the “before” version of the garden, and we’ll see how these ideas grow and change as the season continues. Gardening is never really finished, and every year brings new experiments, new plants, and new surprises. 🌱 If you enjoy reflective garden tours and seasonal garden planning, this video is the beginning of the journey for this year’s garden.
