K&O Builds a Train after Working the Interchange in Hutchinson, KS!

Kansas & Oklahoma Railroad #3838 builds its train at the small yard next to the UP/KO interchange track on an overcast Thursday afternoon. The consist furthest to the south has been set out for pickup by UP. Cars to the north were coupled behind the locomotives to head to K&O's yard in Yaggy, KS. Of interest: WAMX #4164 (SD40-2) and WAMX #4133, a tunnel motor. It's rare to see these engines this far east, as they usually power the train to Great Bend from Yaggy. An ex-Amtrak mail boxcar brings up the rear of the consist, as the train rolls west over the Jim P. Martinez trail bridge and the BNSF/KO diamond just out of view.
