Why Was GOURGEIST Used in VGC 2020?

This last weekend, the International Championships for VGC 2020 in Oceania took place and we got to see some pretty interesting Pokemon that a few people brought to the big stage! Most notably in our eyes was Gourgeist. Used by Eduardo Cunha, Kimo Nishimura, and Raghav Malaviya from what we saw on stream. It made it all the way to the finals on Eduardo’s Team. Naturally Tanky, Decently Powerful with Solid Coverage. Can set up Trick room and make use of it, has some solid niche tricks with Trick or Treat. Can trick or treat Tyranitar or Excadrill to remove the fighting weakness. Outspeeds Conkeldurr (Most Popular Fighting Type) Has access to several other supportive Moves, such as Yawn, Ally Switch, Trick Room, Trick or Treat, Will-O-Wisp, etc. The ability Frisk is also really good this meta for being able to locate the Weakness Policy and potential choice items. Great matchup against Tyranitar, Excadrill, and Rotom-W and can also work well with those three Pokemon as well.
