They Might Be Giants - 1984 Promotional Demo Tape This tape is the second known demo tape that the band has produced. Like the other promotional tapes, this one was likely used as a tool to get performance bookings at various clubs, one of these tapes even made it into the hands of Patty K, who reviewed the tape in issue 18 of popular music zine Jersey Beat. The song "They Might Be Giants", was not listed on the tape's insert, instead appearing as a hidden track on the demo. — Ripped by Antgeth — TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 - Everything Right Is Wrong 2:46 - #3 4:23 - Hell Hotel 6:18 - Youth Culture Killed My Dog 8:38 - They Might Be Giants Writeup from Jersey Beat, Nov. 1984: Oddball humor has always been a staple of rock 'n' roll, even before Dr. Demento made his mark on the world. But few bands can pull it off like TMBG. Every one of these 4 songs is credible and fun. The cuts are short and comical, like the social commentary "Youth Culture Killed My Dog," and the c/w spoof (complete with tubas) entitled "#3."
