If you're here for the link I was talking about: • Building a computer part by part Otherwise: Hello frens This is a tour of my other Homelab away from Home. For a long time, I never thought I'd see better equipment in my life, than what can be found here. I am honered and very hubmled to arguably have better eqipment at home now. Looking at it with modern eyes, it's nothing to write home about. This area was great in 2016-2018 when it was used heavily, but since I left, it has not been keeping up with the times. The comany that invested in me still use it, and the two workstations are used daily. A lone shortdepbth half-rack in a broom closet could be considered a joke. I consider it working with what you've got. It's not fancy. It's not great and it's certainly bad for dust accumulation - but I'd also call it "getting the job done". At home I have a tonne of janky solutions. I have less janky solutions, that's just finnicky and like to have my graceful eye watch over them from time to time, but that's not possible at this location. All of the equipment here have been chosen (or evolved into) being as ressilient as poosible, without breaking the bank. It's just a small office, so while dual switches with redundant power could be nice, this setup will continue to work for a long time Chapters : 0:00 - Intro 0:21 - Closet 0:47 - Synology 2:31 - Rack 5:11 - Rack close up 7:38 - Other equipment 8:50 - Communal Workspace 10:30 - Workstation 1 12:29 - Workstation 2 13:45 - The rest of the stuff 16:07 - Goodbye
