Two things I forgot to mention. First, regarding the hill climb on 2302 – that is only a hill climb – it is one way only. While eating some lunch, I was talking with a park employee that grew up there and rode the trails even before it was part of the state system. He said they had just done a recovery there where a guy went sideways on the trail! Still, deff trying it again when with a group – just a little more momentum next time, and maybe it won’t be as wet (lot of rain for two weeks before I got here!) Secondly, I don’t know what’s in the mud there, but it literally stained my tires brown. Tried scrubbing it off to no avail. Even various tire blackeners failed! Now it’s a conversation point I guess 😊 Oh, and the Mountain Laurel were in bloom, so that made me happy!!
