Day 283 Frankfort, MI Marina to Manistee, MI Marina 28.5 miles 7-28-25

After a lovely weekend and a great mass on Sunday, we took a walk to the beach and explored a little. We got up and headed to our next destination, and our last in MI. Tomorrow we will head out early to make our Lake Michigan crossing to Manitowoc. It looks like we should have favorable seas for the crossing. Just as we landed the boat at the dock I heard the starboard engine cut out. I knew what that meant right away. The shifter cable broke again. Pete was able to get it rigged up again in short order. The waves today were rough to begin with but they settled down enough that we weren’t rolling. It was just a nice calm day on the water. Hoping for more of the same tomorrow. Getting close is getting us more emotional. It’s hard for this lifestyle to end, but I am so looking forward to seeing our friends and family! Just a few more days!
