Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition Personal Comments: This scenario is based on equal total resources from the units. The testings only include melee unique units since Champions are melee unit, ranged units need microing, some ranged units can win with possible zero losses, and ranged units can get annilihated without micro. Slavs Champions win convincingly against most of infantry unique units and some cavalry unique units. They are considerably very strong cost efficient late game unit and can outnumber other infantry unique units easily, thanks to being cheap with Supplies and the effect of Druzhina. However, in-real game situation, they usually face their biggest common counter units, such as Archers, Hand Cannoneers and Siege Units since Druzhina champions come up in late game. Druzhina grants Slavs infantry damage adjacent units, making them incredibly strong in melee fights. It is also supported with the bonuses the Slavs have, such as military production buildings provide +5 population capacity, free supplies and gambesons, and their +15% faster farm gathering rate. Furthermore, Druzhina technology food cost was reduced to make it more affordable. Another reason I did not include ranged unique units is that it will be a long duration video while I am running a potato device with low memory for editing. Units Information: The Champion is an infantry unit in Age of Empires II that can be trained at the Barracks once the Imperial Age is reached. It is the final tier in the Militia line. Champion Stats HP: 70 Attack: 13+4 Armor/Pierce Armor: 1+3/1+5 Speed: 0.99 Rate of Fire: 2 Cost: 45f & 20g Training Time: 21s - 14.21s **Notes This 60-number-of-unit scenario is based on the maximum number of a unit group and suits to 200 population setting.
