I am a reverse engineer... meaning whenever I discover a dish or sauce that I really like, I run home and start researching how I can recreate that flavor, that dish, that experience. Even for dishes that I have never tried before, but just read about. (For you old school subscribers, remember when I made that spicy shrimp paste bucatini pasta that I read about in Indonesia? Yup, I am pretty obsessed with cooking.) Anyways, before having this channel, I actually started another channel that was just about cooking. I cooked several doggie treat cookies and had my dog choose his favorite (haha that was a trick. He loved them all!). I also taste-tested interesting asian snacks and fruits. Yeah, it seems crazy that this ASMR channel did so well because I was literally just a regular joe-shmoo who liked food. So anyways, once I started this ASMR, I tried food I never had before, such as Chick-fil-A and their glorious sauce. That tangy creamy sauce lingered inside me for a long time until I had it again (after one faithful post-workout day). Combined with the really nice service, that sauce really blew me away. I ran (nope, drove) home, scoured the internets, and tried out the first recipe and lo and behold, it was pretty darn perfect.
