Dr. Alison Godwin Full Professor, Faculty of Education and Health Laurentian University Mani Cuza Masters in Human Kinetics (MHK) Laurentian University About this talk: Workers who spend most of their work day outside experience significant occupational exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5), with health impacts varying based on work duration, activity intensity, and downtime environment. This talk introduces a visual tool built on PurpleAir data that quantifies the health effects of breathing polluted air under different real-world conditions. Users can input scenarios relevant to their workforce, to generate customized exposure profiles. We will position the data with respect to existing knowledge on air quality exposure limits, and explain how the tool may be used to support informed decision-making about implementation of workplace protective measures.
