RV Slide Topper Awning Installation

I decided to install a Slide Topper Awning on my Arctic Fox 811 truck camper because I was tired of climbing up on the roof to clean off debris when I camped under trees, or wiping up water that came in the camper when I retracted the slide after it had rained. My local dealer quoted me $500+ just for the labor portion of the installation. There was no way I was willing to pay that outrageous charge, so I decided to install it myself. I ordered the awning through a local Arctic Fox dealer. I asked them to order it direct from Northwood Mfg so I knew I'd get exactly what was needed. I initially called Northwood and got the exact part number of the awning kit used for the 811 truck camper (the model I own) When I ordered the awning, I asked the dealer to have the factory send the awning in a new RV that was being delivered to the dealer, which avoided having to pay freight/shipping fees. Start to finish, the project took about 4 hours while fiddling with camera angles and what not. The awning is the ALPINE model awning from Carefree of Colorado.
