The late Alexander Waugh in his YouTube presentation William Basse Knew examines the poem “On William Shakespeare” by William Basse from 1660 and shows that there are hidden clues in the poem that identifies Edward de Vere as the man who was behind the name “William Shakespeare”. This video shows clues and things that he missed. It also looks at clues in the same poem as it appears in the Jon Benson collection “Poems: Written by Wil. Shakespeare. Gent.” published in 1640. Please note that the video is full of simple number puzzles that are easy to follow. I had to record a few voiceovers which may drop in volume and quality. Thanks for your indulgence. *** Some useful links.
