Taking stem cuttings is fun, fast, and easy when following these four basic steps. Propagating scented geraniums (and other pelargoniums) has a high success rate, making it a rewarding natural science project for homeschoolers of any age. Propagation also cultivates nurturing. (Creating baby plants is one of my greatest gardening joys!) There are many types of fragrant geraniums (lemon, peppermint, rose, nutmeg, to name a few) and the cultivars have different leaf shapes, sizes, and textures, which stimulates many senses. The geranium I propagated is called Attar of Roses and I used coir pots (see below). PLEASE NOTE: I made a video on the BEST Propagation Books, which will be posted next week, by September 3rd. In the meantime, the book I use most often is: Plant Propagation by Philip McMillan Browse. LINKS: Find GARDEN UPDATES AND PROGRESS on my Instagram accounts. I love them because they're made from a renewable resource that would otherwise be discarded. You can also plant the entire pot, however I often reuse them several times before they loose their shape. After that, I still use them to cover the holes in the bottom of containers or as a lining in hanging baskets. Use them the same way you'd use sheet moss. GARDEN GLOVES by FOXGLOVES, INC https://foxglovesinc.com?aff=11 I love to have my bare hands in fresh potting soil, however you’ll often see me wearing my favorite GLOVES: UPF 50 Garden Gloves by Foxgloves, Inc. I’ve been using these gloves for over 10 years and LOVE everything about them, including the colors and affordable price. Despite constant use, mine last for years and years. They keep my hands clean and protect my skin against sun damage. The company is USA owned, founded by an amazing woman! Affiliate Disclosure: *Some affiliate links used.
