Build -Fallen Sword: This build will eventually make you atk. at max atk. speed so the % hp based damage will be very nice versus high hp target (but not just on them), the item also gives you a lot of all around good stats. If you want you can also go for a more standard Tooth of Greed but I encourage you to try Fallen Sword. -Swift Boots: Not much to say here, our boots of choice for some more early atk. speed. -Blade of Destruction: Crits will be our main source of damage so we necessarily need BoD for its passive. -Scarlet Phantom: This synergizes with our crit build supplying us with all the atk. speed with need, of course it's also amazing with Fallen Sword thanks to the high atk. speed it provides. -Wind Chaser: The armor is very cost efficient in general and the armor penetration allows our damage to stay relevant throughout the game even if tanks try to counter us with armor. -Blade of Despair: This is just to top off our build with the highest damage possible, if you feel like you are already doing enough damage or you are being targeted hard by enemy assassin you should buy Immortality instead (you can sell your boots later on for Despair). -Starting Item: Hunter's Knife, it makes our farming faster also Layla needs levels asap so that exp bonus is very nice to have. Emblem Set: Physical for sure. Damage, atk. speed, crits (and stuff) it's just everything we need. BattleSpell: Flicker because Layla lacks movement abilities and this allows her to reposition in case enemies get too close. Tips 1) I like maxing out the 1st Skill first because in the early-mid stages of the game it's actually a very good chunk of your damage dealing abilities so increasing it's damage fast is nice; the utility slow for you second skill is pretty much very good even with only 1 point on it anyway. 2) Layla needs a lot of levels, you need to reach level 12 as fast as possible so you get to your third ultimate level for max atk. range. That's also why we get Hunter's Knife as explained before, try to farm lane and jungle efficiently to reach that lvl12 asap! 3) Blue buff is worthless on you, there are going to be allies who need it more for sure so unless you are stealing it from your enemies you should avoid "stealing" it from your teammates. Red buff gets better on you the longer the game goes so if you can try to get it whenever you can (more so if you are lvl12+). 4) Always remember that Layla's basic attacks and skills deal damage based on the distance between you and your target so if they are close to you they deal their minimum damage, if they are very far from you you deal max damage to them. Always keep this in mind and try to hit them from as far as possible. 5) In the early game your skills play a big role in your damage dealing but after you complete some major items (probably when you hit that sweet lv12) your basic attacks will be a way more efficient way to deal damage so from that point on you should almost never use your first skill, use your second skill for the slow utility when needed and of course keep using your ult whenever needed. 6) Layla's ultimate is very nice to kill low hp enemies who are trying to run away because of it's extremely long range, during fights you should also use it if you can hit multiple targets because it's a nice nuke. It's also nice to use it to stop enemies from pushing a tower by hitting the minions and killing them\putting them at low hp. 7) The extremely long basic attack range is Layla's number 1 feature you have to exploit. Thanks to that you can usually stay to way safer spots compared to other marksman or for example when you start exchanges with other heroes you can always hit a few shots before they are in range to hit you giving you a starting advantage.
