Remembering victims of Ankara bombing Tuesday, March the 15th was Turkish football player Umut Bulut’s birthday. But, this year, there were no celebrations - as the young athlete had to bury his father. Kemal Bulut died in a terror attack that hit the Turkish capital Ankara on the evening of Sunday, March the thirteenth. Kemal was caught in the blast while he was returning home from watching his son play. An hour after the football match ended, a car bomb struck Ankara. Blast kills dozens of people Kemal Bulut is not the only victim… there were 34 others…... People lost their sons, daughters… Mothers and fathers… Their loved ones. Songul Bektas… She was going to become a mother in less than three months… but she lost her baby after being severely injured in the attack. Her condition is not improving. Ozancan Akkus... A university student, died in the blast. Ozancan Akkus shared the same fate as that of his close friend Ali Deniz Uzatmaz who died in another terror attack in Ankara last year. Nusrettin Can Calkinsin and his girlfriend Zeynep Basak Gulsoy were also killed...they were waiting for a bus home after spending the day together. The bombing also killed Mehmet Emre Cakar who was due to have surgery to receive a liver transplant. His father was ready to donate part of his liver. But now, he asks how will he survive without his son. The attack also took away Berkay Bas from his family, they spent the night looking for him on the streets of Ankara. But their search ended when they were told that their son’s body had been taken to a medical centre. Kerim Saglam, a twenty-three-year-old student also died in the bombing. He was in Ankara to visit his sister. Muharrem Cermik [Moo-har-rehm Cher-meek], Bagdat Cermik and their daughter Perihan Cermik were returning from seeing relatives.
