OTARI MX 80 with Remote for sale. Used only in our recording studio. Our awesome tape tech Jordan calibrated and performed maintenance on this deck today. Here are his findings: 1) Tape heads look great, there is no visible hairline gap and very little flattening in any of the heads. The frequency response indicates that the heads do not need to be re-lapped at this time, and that they probably have a lot of life left in them. 2) The transport looks like it's in great shape. 3) All inputs and outputs were easy to calibrate, and they all look solid. 4) One of the rubber guides will need to be replaced. This is the light-colored "modern" rubber which tends to deteriorate over time on all decks. Once replaced, the new rubber guide can last up to 10 years. SUMMARY: The heads and transport all look great and function well, the deck is calibrated and ready for tracking.
