SMU Meadows Music - Meadows Wind Ensemble: “FAST TRACK” - LIVE 10.15.2025 “FAST TRACK” promises to be exactly that…fast, and more than a little electrifying, start to finish! The program will open with the World Premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Joseph Schwantner’s FAST TRACK: Concerto for Percussion and Wind Ensemble, written on commission for the MWE and a consortium of top-tier college and conservatory ensembles, with Meadows Artist-Faculty and Dallas Symphony Orchestra Principal Percussionist George Nickson as soloist. The program will also include a performance of longtime friend of the MWE Stephen Montague’s at the white edge of phrygia for chamber orchestra, as well as a relatively new work by Fredrik Söderberg, The Death of Pierrot, and Arnold Schoenberg’s virtuosic brass piece Fanfare on Motifs of Die Gurrelieder.
