This time, we enjoyed an 18-hour ferry trip from Ibaraki/Oarai to Hokkaido/Tomakomai on the new ferry “Sunflower Kamui”, which just started service on January 21st, 2025! What is the “Sunflower Kamui”? A new late-night ferry service that started on January 21st, 2025. With a fresh new design that differs from the conventional “Sanfurawaa”, it expresses “the sea at dawn” and “the light that illuminates a new era”. The name “Kamui” is an Ainu word meaning “God, a great power like a soul”. Features of the Sanfurawaa Kamui All seats are in fully private rooms with locks, ensuring privacy and comfort! The ship is barrier-free, so it's easy for anyone to use! It's even equipped with a pet room and dog run 🐶 There's a large bath and sauna for relaxing 🛁 There's a well-stocked shop and vending machines, so you can eat with peace of mind 🍜🍺 Also, we were able to film the large bath outside of opening hours for this video!
