In this episode, I take my 2025 Yamaha Ténéré 700 Rally off the beaten path—from the fog-drenched castles of Piacenza to the turquoise loops of the Trebbia River and down into the rugged mountains of Liguria. The Italian Maldives: Moto-Camping at Agriturismo Croara Vecchia The Highlights: Basecamp: I stayed at Agriturismo Croara Vecchia, an ancient stone convent turned into a stunning farm stay. From the horses grazing in the meadows to the quiet nights under the stars, it’s the perfect place to recharge. Living History: We explore Castello di Rivalta, home to an incredible armory of 19th-century uniforms and medieval armor, and the iconic Church of San Martino Vescovo with its piercing spire. The Legend: I ride the Ténéré across the Ponte Gobbo (Hunchbacked Bridge) in Bobbio—an 11-arch stone marvel that looks like something out of a fantasy novel. The View: A stop at the cliffside village of Brugnello for a panoramic look at the Trebbia Valley, often called the "Maldives of Italy." Into Liguria: We finish the trek at the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate in Murialdo, navigating the steep, forested trails where the Rally edition's suspension really comes to life.
