PCIe 4.0 woes, Linkup AVA5 PCIe 5.0? - Persephone Build

I have quite a story… but the long and the short is I think I found my new favorite PCIe 4.0 cable for this build and it looks like it’s a PCIe 5.0 cable. I started with thinking I could replace the Louqe Cobalt cable with a white riser cable. I found this Linkup dual reverse cable and the 18 cm size was perfect. Then I ran into an issue, seems this cable doesn’t work with my 4060. I wasn’t sure what was going on… so I tried many things and pulled out my EVGA 3060 ti card. Wondering if it had something do to with the 4060 running on x8 vs x16 PCIe lanes. I tried the white cable on an intel machine and it looks like it works. I believe there is something specific to the Linkup PCIe 4.0 white dual reverse cable, AMD/x570-I chipset and using x8 lanes. Something with the signaling causes instability and the computer to bog down or even crash. I will confirm things with other cards and motherboards later. As of now I think I found the best PCIe 4.0 cables to use with my Persephone build. Oddly, one is the new Linkup AVA5 PCIe 5.0 cable. On another note, I really love Linkup cables and I feel they are trying to do their best to supply PCIe cables, there is some learning curves I believe from their perspective and see it as they are trying to find sourcing for their cables and learning along the way. I have had two interactions with their company and in both situations they handled things very well, listened to me and responded quickly. In one situation the clips on their risers snapped and they worked to exchange the cables. I still think the smaller mechanism is terrible, but the new AVA5 cable sort of solves this by just saying they know and removed it altogether. As an engineer the less moving parts the less hassle, I think they found that most times these will not fall off and have to have that extra retention mechanism. I have a lot of their cables and when they work it’s a great thing. So far the AVA5 cable works great and I think it’s the best PCIe 4.0 cable I have.
