THIS IS JUST THE WIP BTW !! THE VIDEO’S NOT FINISHED YET !! Au explanation !! ( may change a bit in the future !! ) In this au, DrV3 and all the other Killing Games were simulations created by a cult worshipping despair. They had snuck into the government and started the killing games under the guise of studying quirkless’s people reactions and capabilities when in danger. But since quirkless people were getting rarer and rarer and none of them wanted to participate in a “ harmless government experiment” even if they would be awarded a pass to work / study anywhere they wanted without questions, the cult was forced to take quirked people instead, but made them forget having a quirk or even their existence inside the simulation. So all the danganronpa games were simulations created by this cult. After the game was done, everyone would be woken up with their memories of it erased, got their recommendations and went about their lives, never knowing they participated in a killing game. In V3, however, they made a mistake— Including Kokichi Ouma in the project, even though his quirk was the control of electronics. When Kokichi was about to die inside the simulation, his body instinctively tried to activate his quirk to stop the hydraulic press. Since quirks don’t exist in the simulation, it obviously didn’t work— But Kokichi ended up manipulating the machinery made to erase everyone’s memories upon waking up. So when the killing game came to an end and everyone woke up, they retained their fake memories. Their old life was erased, with no way to bring it back. The Cult was discovered when the incident was investigated by another part of the government and the existence of the Despair Project was covered up by faking the deaths of everyone involved in V3 and making them fake identities that matched their invented lives. The DrV3 cast now lives together in a building funded by the government. They’re allowed to do whatever they want as long as they don’t tell anybody about the Cult and the Government’s failure to recognise it`s existence. Kokichi used the Goverment recommendation to join UA as a way to kind of redeem himself for his less than good actions in the killing game and while some others would have joined him if they could have, their quirks weren’t suited for it.
